KS2 Woodland Care Session

Today the children went to the woods to learn about how to care for the woods and the surrounding area. The children were shown how to clear the paths of brambles and stingy nettles safely, using secatures. They were also taken on a walk through the area, to look for any fallen branches and natural objects that could cause an accident.

We also worked as a team to rebuild the barrier at the bottom of the woodland. some children collected the branches, while others began the task of rebuilding. The children worked well together, producing a safe and strong barrier.

Before returning to school, we had a game of Hide and Seek. This was great fun, even if the some of the children found it quite a challenge to hide quietly. Take a look at the pictures.
