The children then began their task, making any object or creature of their choice. The only restriction they were given was that it had to be made using only natural materials. They could not wait to get stuck in, some of them up to their elbows in mud.
Some of the children worked in groups, while others worked alone. Having the freedom to choose for themselves what to do, the children produced thing like a boat made from tree bark with twigs and leaves for the mast and sails, a Hedgehog from pine cones and twigs and one child followed on from last week and continued to make food items from the mud and leaves.
This activity was a really great success and the children were really proud of what they have achieved. Photographs were taken of all the children’s work. Some just enjoyed the opportunity to get muddy and have muddy faces.
Sorry Mum's for the extra washing but it is great fun.
