The class had been learning the Three Billy Goat's Gruff story. This week one group began by going on a hunt for the characters in the story. They had to listen to instructions to give them clues of where to look. The second group had to re-tell the story on the bridge, using masks. And the third group made individual masks for them to take home. The whole class got to try out all three activities during the session.
The children really enjoyed the re-telling of the story on the bridge. It was lovely to see the children watching in the group, tell the story as they went along too. The majority of the children wanting to be the Troll.
The activity involving the hunt for the characters was received very well by the children, as it was the first time the class had done anything like this before. They were so keen to get going and be the first one to find the pictures.
The mask making activity was also fun until it started to rain, but the children did not complain. Again the most popular mask was the Troll.
It was a really enjoyable session despite the weather.
