Today the children went to the woods for their Forest School session, to look for things that would tell us that spring had arrived. There was the chance to explore and look for new leaves, spring flowers and the minibeasts that are starting to wake, up from their winter sleep.
The children also got to make a spring bouquet, collecting leaves, twigs, some flowers and blossom. they then tied them together to make a bouquet. This could then be take home to put in the garden or in the house.
The final activity was to collect natural materials in a pot, mix them with water and create different smells and potions. The children used a stick to stir their potions up. This encouraged the children to use their sense of smell to create different smells.
