Home Learning

Once again we find ourselves attempting the task of distance learning. As both a teacher and a parent I know how difficult this can be. Please be assured that we are in this together and I am here to help and support you, should you need it.

The new term officially begins tomorrow Wednesday 6th January. Literacy and Math tasks will be set daily and I will add some topic related fun tasks for the children to complete also.

Most tasks will be set via Seesaw with some tasks available to complete directly onto a template but for other pieces your child will need to complete the work in their home learning book or on paper. Directions will be given within each activity.

Video links to White Rose videos will be set here to help you and your child to complete the math activities set. I have also added the activities below as a pdf file. If you have access to a printer and would prefer to make your own hard copies, you can do this and take a photo of the work completed by your child and upload to Seesaw where I, Mrs Nisar or Miss Judd can provide feedback.

If you have any questions you can contact me via Seesaw or Twitter. smiley

Important Information

Tuck Money - We suggest £1 per week. This should be sent in on a Monday in an envelope marked with your child's name.

P.E. - We will have P.E. every Wednesday morning. Your child will need wear appropriate clothing, e.g. t-shirt, shorts or a tracksuit and suitable footwear (we may go outside, weather permitting). Children are not permitted to wear any jewellery during a P.E lesson.

Reading - Reading books need to be brought to school EVERY DAY. Please try to read at home with your child, discuss with them what they have read and record what you have done in their reading record. If you read frequently at home and require a new book please see me to arrange this. Your child will take part in daily guided group reading sessions in class alongside peer and 1:1 reading.

Spelling - We are working on learning the high frequency words, these are words that they will use in their writing on a daily basis. Please help your child to practise and learn their spellings.

Forest Schools - The children have Forest Schools every Thursday. Please make sure your child has a waterproof coat and wellies in school. If they wear their wellies to school then they need to bring another pair of shoes to change into.
